Happy Dia de los Reyes!! The celebrations keep on coming here in Mexico :)
Dia de los Reyes is 6 Jan. 25 Dec is when Santa comes, and 6 Jan is when the wise men come and leave gifts for the children. It is just as big as December. The three stars that we know as Orion´s belt.. (Who knows how to spell his name.. never in my life put it on paper.. haha) Anyway, those three stars are the three wise men. In the night they come down from Heaven and leave gifts, just like Santa. They eat a traditional bread too. I dont remember if i shared this with you last year. This time last year i was a little (cough cough) out of it with the traditions, Spanish, everything.. It is a lot more fun now that i understand. :)
This week my companion and i left the house a little late to go to our district meeting. As we offered our prayer to leave the house, i prayed that we would be able to arrive on time to the meeting. As we were leaving our member neighbors stopped us and asked us if we wanted a ride! Heavenly Father loves us :) We arrived five minutes early to the meeting! I love instant answered prayers :) It encourages me to be more specific each time i pray because he really does hear EVERY prayer!
All week we have been eating tamales. It is the traditional food this time of year! My favorites are with chilie poblano y queso! And pollo con salsa verde :) mm! Lots of chocolate too! I thought of the youtube video, Our diet starts tomorrow!! sheesh, it should have started yesterday! haha.
This week Hermanos Matamoros got married! It was so sweet! :) I love going to weddings! But can i just tell you nothing can even compare to a sealing in the temple. It is 100% different and 100% more amazing. However it was a great first step for them! They seemed super happy! It was so nice of them to invite us. it was so great that it was THIS week too! If they would have waited one more week we wouldn't have been able to go!

As you may have seen my subject. New Year, New area.. Well let me explain.. We had interviews with the President on Thursday. He came to our house and asked us how the area is. I told him that it is great! We love it here! He talked about the house and i told him that we are looking for a new one. He asked why and i told him that it is a little bit dangerous where we live. He had no idea. He asked if anything had happened and i told him what i told you on Christmas... He was steaming mad! He felt so bad. He called the Zone Leaders and told them that this week we need to leave. They found a safe area and that day called us and told us to pack. I am in the same stake, but different zone. We are in Oriente. We changed houses with Elders. They live in our house, and we live in their house.
I dont know a lot about the area. The good news is we live five minutes from Walmart! We went today! Oh it was so fun :)
The Elders left the house a total disaster. We left our house super clean, we took out the trash, left them so many notes to help them in the area. We got here and turns out the Elders lost the keys to the house. We dont have keys! We left the door shut with a little lock type thing, with out a key. We open the window to un latch the hinge to open the door. Well as we were leaving, Hermana Rios shut the window too tight and now we are locked outside. I still have no idea how we are going to get in... They owner of the house doesn't have a copy!
In the house there are dead cockroaches every where. There are dirty dishes in the sink and trash all over. The bathroom is disgusting!! The house is a lot bigger than our other house with only one light bulb, it was so dark! In Walmart we spent over 600 pesos just in cleaning supplies! I dont know how they can live like this...
We walked in and the only thing we could do was laugh. Once we find a way inside, we have lots of work to do :) But aside from that, we are excited. I was super sad to leave my area, i really do love it, but i know that i will grow to love the people here as well. Just like in all my other areas :)
