Nov 11: Happy P-Day?

Happy P-day :) I know, i know, its Tuesday. Sorry! I promise i had nothing to do with it :)

Oh my gosh so much has happened this week! 

I will start with Monday. 

Carolina and Angeles took us to a what is it called? Fair? Anyway, they have this big area all decorated for Halloween. With a lot of skeletons and skulls. It was so cool! They have a tradition here that every day of the dead they celebrate those who died. They set up this whole thing to remember those who have died. They put out their favorite food, things that remind them about those who have died, their interests etc. Their were so many!  A lot were really pretty. Some weird... haha. There were lots of little things to buy and look at. There were also a lot of parade car things. I don't know how to explain this in English. haha. I will send pics :) Needless to say it was super fun :)

Word of Wisdom....

Wednesday we had our Leadership meeting with the Presidente. He talked to me about the Prodigal son.  I received the most beautiful revelation in this moment talking to him. All i can say is that I know without a shadow of a doubt the Jesus Christ is merciful. The Atonement saves us. When we don't repent we have to pay for our sins, but when we repent, he pays. He loves us. God loves us so much it is crazy. They are so willing to forgive. Forgiveness isn´t just accepting your plea,and forgetting with a grudge, they bless you entirely! So much more than we deserve! Wow.

Carlos´ baptism was so great! Karina spoke. It was so cute. Then after he stood up and gave her a big hug!  She said that one of the main reasons she chose to be baptized was because of the eternal families, she said that now she will be complete! :)

Well, as you probably guessed i had transfers! I am now sitting in San Luis! I have been given the opportunity to train! :) My companion is darling! Seriously i love her! Her name is Hermana Rios. She is from Mexico DF. She is seriously awesome! I am so excited! :) 

It was hard to leave my area. When we got the call we were with Angeles and Carolina. Angeles began to cry. One day she lent me one of her sweaters to wear. She said that she wanted to give me her sweater! It was really sweet, but super hard to leave these people that i love so much! After that we saw Karina and Carlos and Ian. They gave me a beautiful necklace and bracelet. She wrote me a long letter and just cried! It made me cry too. But this is only for a short moment. We will always be in contact.

Yesterday we went to the stake center with the Presidente and his wife with all of the trainees and trainers. 21 new Elders and 3 sisters. It was crazy! We talked with the Presidente and he talked to us about training and the responsibilities of doing so. It was awesome. I learned so much. I got super nervous because we still didn´t know who our comps were going to be.

One by one they called us up and had us read the name of our companion. We stood up and said where we are going to serve and our companion is ___!! It was super exciting! My comp jumped up and said yay!! We hugged, they took pics and then we listened to a few more tips, ideas, etc. Then we ate, took more pics and we were off to our three hour bus ride to San Luis.

Yep. We are here. We don't know a single person here. It was super funny on the bus ride. All the newbies were completely asleep within two minutes. My comp slept the whole way with her head bobbing in every direction. It made me remember how tired i always was too when i first got here. All the other missionaries were talking and stayed awake. haha. With time :)

Well, when we arrived last night, our leaders met up with us, gave us the keys to our new house and the phone. They didn't have the address though! We called some members from our phone who gave us the address to their house. We took a taxi (they are so much more expensive here than in Aguas) and we went to the members house. We met her there and she helped us bring all of our suitcases in her house. Then her husband drove us to our new house. They had the idea of where we lived, but didn't know exactly! Good thing there was a picture of Jesus in the window! haha. Then because their car was so small they went back for our suitcases. Super nice! Everyone here is SO NICE!! i am loving it :)

It is a lot colder here. A lot colder! I am wearing my sweater and my coat. It has rained all day! Our area is huge. I am learning the bus system now because the taxis are way too much. We have only gotten lost once today :)

Our house is cute. It is just cement floors, with a leak in the roof, but it is cozy. I have already killed two cockroaches. (at least i think they were cocroaches) 

To answer some of your questions, Yea technology is normal. The parents have the cells, sometimes the kids too. Apple pretty much doesn't exist at all. No one has ipods, ipads, iPhones, apple nothing. They use memory sticks for music and pictures. Computers, normally the wealthier people, but it is not that common. in every street there are internet cafes. tvs yes. flat screens, rarely.

the houses usually are one floor, with two to three little bedrooms, a small kitchen and an area between. No carpet. Tile or cement floors. The washingroom is in the same room as the family room or wherever things fit. 

all the kids wear uniforms. They are public schools, the same years as Utah. They have private schools too. They can wear jeans with a collared shirt. Not many go to private schools.

With respect to the family coming or not, i have thought about it but i am still not sure. I am leaning more towards no, but if Liza thought it was awesome, then maybe so! I really don't know! But i will be happy for whatever happens. Seriously. I am not sure for how long... there isn´t a lot to do here other than visit all the families, unless you come for the day of the carnival in October or April... I would like to got to the sealing of Carlos and Karina! Who knows!
